Information about RMG and NZTI Training
You can find detailed information about our programmes and courses here. We offer sector-specific funded discounts for workplace learners.
Does Risk Management Group training meet NZQA and WorkSafe requirements?
Yes. Specifically, Risk Management Group / NZTI Ltd is registered by the NZQA as a Private Training Establishment under the provisions of the Education Act 1989 and its subsequent amendments. We have been granted consent by NZQA to assess unit standards, and our training is moderated by the Workforce Development Councils through national external moderation. In addition, we also carry out robust self-assessment. This means that our Tutors, course content, and delivery methods are continually quality-checked. This ensures that our training is up-to-date and delivered in a way that maximises your learning.
How do I enrol?
The best way is to enrol online. Alternatively, you can contact us by phone, email, or in person to work through the enrolment process. For NZQA-funded training programmes, you will need to complete a formal Training Agreement document and provide a copy of identification, such as a birth certificate or passport. Driver’s licenses are accepted in some cases. The Risk Management Group staff or your Tutor will help you with this process.
Do I get a confirmation email/letter?
Yes. We will send a confirmation email to the email address provided. The confirmation email includes important information for your training, including self-directed learning (if applicable), start and finish times for your training session, and what to bring. Please check your spam folder for this email and read it carefully. Reply to it if you have any questions.
Can I change the date of my training session?
Yes. You can request one change of date free of charge. Additional changes may incur a rebooking fee and are subject to availability. You can change the date by calling us with your request. If your enrolment was made by a representative of your workplace or organisation, the contact person must authorise any date changes.
I am an employee on a work visa, can I enrol in the programmes/courses?
Currently yes, you can – you must hold an AEWV (Accredited Employer Work Visa) which must be valid for the duration of the programme you are enrolling in. For authentication purposes, you must provide a copy of your passport and visa document.
How do I cancel my course? Can I get a refund?
Yes, you can cancel your course. You will receive a partial or full refund depending on when you cancel. We offer a cooling-off period, providing a full refund if notified by email within 48 hours of enrolling (and before practical) that you wish to cancel. See ‘Training session cancellations and refunds’ in our Terms and Conditions for full details.
How do I book a group programme/course?
If you’d like to organize a group booking with us, please contact us via email or phone. Refer to our group booking Terms and Conditions.
Are there any language requirements?
You are required to have an acceptable level of spoken English. A translator may be used with prior consent if you are not a confident English speaker. Contact us at least 24 hours before your training session to discuss support options.
What should I bring to my training session?
Bring completed project work or self-directed learning activities if applicable, a pen, and a mask or face covering. Lunch may be provided; confirm with your employer or RMG before the course date.
How will I be assessed?
To achieve NZQA unit standards and a programme/course certificate, you must demonstrate competency through tasks like practical work, written assessments, and scenario assessments. Tutors explain assessment requirements and offer feedback to help you meet them.
Can I get additional learning information?
Yes, we offer learning materials such as Learner Guides, Learner Topic Handouts, and Learner Bites. Let us know what you need and how many copies, and we’re happy to provide these resources.
How can I give feedback on my training?
We welcome any type of feedback. Feel free to talk to your Tutor or fill out an evaluation form at the end of your training session/programme. Feedback can also be submitted online or by email.
How can I make a complaint?
If you are unsatisfied with any aspect of your training, speak with your Tutor first. If unresolved, contact the PT Operations Manager – NZTI – Training by email or phone, or complete our online complaint form.
